What to Expect
Class Format
LC Spanish classes meet once a week for 90 minutes. All classes are held online via Google Meet. Class sizes are two to six people, and all classes are 18+.
LC Spanish classes are structured around themes that give logic and context to the vocabulary and skills you are learning. For example, in Beginning Spanish 1, we use the image of a house to organize basic vocabulary like foods, clothes and hobbies. Each class includes grammar instruction, information about the Spanish-speaking world, and opportunities for students to speak, listen, read, and write in Spanish.
Scheduling
Class times are set by the instructor approximately one month before the session begins. Attendance and participation in class are crucial to learning, so if you know you need to miss more than two (2) sessions of a course, it is better to sign up at another time. However, intentionally small class sizes mean that scheduling remains flexible throughout the course, so when conflicts come up we can often reschedule. Classes are recorded if not all students are present.
2026 sessions will be announced in December
Registration will open approximately one month before each session begins. The waitlist will be notified first when courses are scheduled and will have the opportunity to register before the general public.
Cost and Payment
There is a $25 registration fee to reserve your spot in the class. This amount is credited to your total invoice for the course. The registration fee is only refundable if you email Profe Liz to withdraw before the first day of class.
We use a choose your price model. From the three pricing options given, choose the price that best fits your budget and resources. No need to explain or discuss your income! Students receive an electronic invoice which includes payment plan options. See Pricing page for details.
Materials
There are no textbooks required for general classes and all materials are provided for free on Google Classroom. Students are required to have or make a Google account so that they can access Google Classroom. It is possible to make a Google account with an existing email that is not Gmail. Instructions on how to do this will be provided with course materials. Topics courses may require that students purchase a book.
